Developing your digital photographs
16/07/08
Lodge Hill Open Learning Centre are able to offer three levels of tuition for Beginners,Intermediate and Advanced using Adobe Photoshop Elements, which provides you with the tools to create your own digital dark room.
They work on a ratio of one tutor to eight participants, all having individual access to a PC in our purpose built Open Learning Centre.
Familiarity with a PC, Windows XP is ESSENTIAL.
Beginners
DEVELOPING YOUR DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHS Stage I
A five-week course, 2 hours a week each Wednesday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm, from 16th July to 13th August.
Through demonstration, discussion and practical work you'll explore some of the techniques for
improving your digital photographs using Adobe Photoshop Elements. This is a friendly beginner's class and the cost is £50 non-members and £45
for members. If there is sufficient demand we can also run this course on Saturday mornings.
NOTE - This course is for beginners to Adobe Elements software who already have an understanding of pixels and know how to adjust the
resolution and quality settings of a digital camera, but who now wish to progress to editing and enhancing their photographs via computer
software.
Although no previous knowledge of "Elements" is required, familiarity with a PC, Windows and use of the mouse is essential as the course involves practical work.
Intermediate
DEVELOPING YOUR DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHS Stage II
For this course you should be competent in using your digital camera and be able to edit and print photos to beginner standard. We will take you a step further to develop your hands-on practical skills by using the PCs and Adobe Photoshop Elements software available in our Open Learning Centre.
The course will be run over five two-hour sessions - dates to be confirmed. The cost of the course is £50 non-members and £45 members.
Advanced
DEVELOPING YOUR DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHS Stage III
Ideally, you will have already attended Stage II. For those unsure about their existing skills' level, they can be contacted by our course tutor (Lesley Cutting) who will advise them. We may run this course as a day course or over a number of weeks subject to demand.
Dates and costs TBC.
NOTE - These courses deal with the 'developing' of digital photographs via dedicated software and are not photography courses presenting information on composition, exposure, focus, depth of field, etc. - although, some of this can creep into our discussions!
