Technique has a place, but not as a substitute for turning up at the right place at the right time. Technique is more than just pressing a button on a hi-tech camera - remember the EV and depth-of-Field Scales?
Even in today’s heady world of digital, traditional techniques that have held sway for many years are still important for adding that artistic touch to a beautifully lit landscape.

replacing them with weather watching, reading the light and research to produce a successful recipe for stunning pictures that everyone can believe.
