The Chairman's AGM report
23/04/08
We couldn’t have written a better script for our 30th season. The season has flown by in which time we have hosted a variety of interesting speakers, held some closely contested competitions, been involved in the digital photoshop workshops and held the first, of many more, camera workshops.
We have welcomed a lot of new faces, been challenged by the overall improved quality of work and, in a nice way, by the increased attendance numbers.
We have seen the very young, budding photographers join us as well as over 90 visitors who were keen to share our speakers evenings with us.
Theses achievements have come about from ideas and feedback as well as the work and support from the committee and fellow members.
Thank you to all of you who have been quietly working in the backgrounds, getting the equipment ready each meeting, making sure I hadn’t forgotten any important things, helping with the workshops and all the little jobs that keep us functioning as a club.
I would encourage a few more of the members to learn little aspects of setting up for a meeting so that we have the backup when the key members are unable to attend.
Special mention is made to our President John who has been very helpful in doing research for me throughout the season, photocopying most of our paperwork and constantly being there to bounce ideas off.
With all these activities taking place it is important that we all feel involved and part of the club and your ideas and feedback remain important to us in being able to be a club for the members.
I have really enjoyed the season and thank you to all of you for making it such a pleasurable experience in my first year as chairman.
