Ladies & gentlemen, friends old and new, what a splendid way to end the first half of our 2008/09 programme.

Well, it has hardly stopped since last May. Members of the committee worked very hard in the closed season which resulted in the ‘Lottery for All’ grant being awarded, to enable us to acquire the wonderful equipment we now have.

Having received the award it was then necessary to source the equipment. To stretch the funds as far as possible Karen twisted a few arms and drove hard bargains to stretch the monies as far as possible.

Just a word of warning: it does come at a price as we will need projector bulbs at £300.00 and money to insure the equipment, hence the need for raffles and other fundraising.

Judi has beavered away on the publicity front with great success obtaining regular publicity throughout the area and adverts for the programme.

After some diligent research we sourced a suitable printer who was able to produce the programme at short notice to a high quality.

We have had exhibitions in the church and in Budgens to enable members' work to be shown to the community. Thanks go to the members who assisted with the print selection & for putting up & maintaining the displays.

We have had some social outings but unfortunately we had to cancel our proposed trip to Portsmouth for the second year due to the weather.

Competition evenings have shown the quality work that is now being produced which enabled us to take the honours at Wittering by a substantial margin.

The print stands have also been a great success and thanks go to Tony & Hugh helping with the erection & dismantling of the equipment, all part of a successful club evening. Thanks also to Karen for negotiating the stand construction.

Thanks must also go to Rachel for her organisation on the competition evenings with the prints and recording the results.

To Karen, Clive, Hilly and Rob who have run the highly successful workshops, with more planned. Again many thanks.

And finally to all those who have contributed time, effort and expertise in making this season, and this evening such a success.

This only leaves me to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a successful 2009.
